My friends at Don’t Be A Lout just released Charles Larson’s Shift EP today. Armed with a laptop and a couple microphones, Charles recorded this himself in various places scattered around NYC and leaned on me for mixing and mastering back in early Summer 2012. This is basically the same process we used when collaborating on his last album (Adventures Down Avenues) and it worked out nicely once again. Charles has a way of capturing tracks that are super interesting sonically (recording water in the bathtub or the purring of his cat for example) and I’m always excited to help him realize his tracks.
I also did a quick tracking session with Irene Barber of Eighteen Individual Eyes to record some background vocals on a couple tracks. Check it out.
